REFCOM

Most air conditioning systems contain a refrigerant gas and, since July 2005, refrigerants have been classified as hazardous waste under the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations.

Also, since the introduction of the F-Gas Regulations in June 2006, it is now a mandatory requirement for all end users of equipment containing refrigerants to ensure the minimisation of leaks.

AMAC Services uk Ltd is a member of REFCOM. Membership is open to refrigeration or air conditioning contractors who install commission or maintain a system containing refrigerants.

As members of REFCOM we have undergone independent inspection to confirm that:

  • we are registered as carriers of hazardous waste
  • we possess recognised certification in competency to handle refrigerants
  • we conform with all current legal requirements
  • we operate auditable procedures for the proper control of refrigerants.
  • we use appropriate, purpose-designed refrigerant recovery equipment
  • we can account for all refrigerant used and recovered
  • we are environmentally aware and perform refrigerant transactions with minimum emissions.
